Welcome to lakeplacid.locallygrown.net – The Lake Placid Online Farmers Market – Farm Fresh to You. We (several organic and natural farmers) are experimenting to find an efficient way (for both customers and producers) to provide our great customers in the Lake Placid area with our fresh farm products. Customers order online & pay with credit card when they pick up their goodies at the Lake Placid Skate Shop in Lake Placid (the red building conveniently located across from the Olympic Speed Skating Oval and Olympic Center skating rink). Pickup is from 3 to 6 Wednesday.

Please note that the period when items can be ordered is only from Friday at noon until Monday at 10 pm. The Tuesday of the order period is when the farmers get the orders together, and the Wednesday of each period is the pick up day.

There are many ways that this is similar to “regular” “producer only” farmers markets: You buy directly from the grower/baker/producer so you are supporting them directly and you can ask about their production practices or request certain sizes.
The differences:
1. In a regular farmers market/CSA you guess/hope what will be available when you get to the market. In this online market you get to reserve what you want from the list of available goodies.
2. In a regular farmers market the grower harvests, washes, and packs what s/he thinks/hopes will sell, takes them to market, sets up a stand, sells or pays someone to sell for hours, hauls what didn’t sell home. In our online market we harvest/wash/pack just what you have ordered. We take it to Lake Placid, drop it off, and come home so we can keep farming.
3. In a “regular” farmers market the farmers pay a membership fee and a daily stall fee. In this online market the farmers pay 3% of sales for the software and 10% of sales to the host/coordinator.

To open an account, click “Your Account”, then click “Don’t Yet Have An Account?”. It asks for name, email, phone, address, and to set a username, and password. After this process you are set for online ordering! Then go over to “The Market” page and place your order during our open order dates. When we open the market for orders, we will send you an email with a list of all the products available. As always, feel free to email us at lponlinefarmersmarket@gmail.com with any questions.

Thank you for supporting local farmers and bakers.
